Taqueria Luna

A family run taqueria famous for lime margaritas, sugar skull cookies, horchata, churros, and street tacos. Includes both meaty and vegan menus. There’s a special rotating menu of dessert tacos too!

The interior of Taqueria Luna is cheery and welcoming, featuring warm-toned wood, varnished counters, and walls painted with murals, exposed brick, sugar skulls, and fat, happy moons. The air is perfumed with savory spices and the bite of citrus (the place is known for its lime margaritas). There’s are a pair of high top window seats behind a sugar skull mural, the rest of the seating scattered around the interior of the place with a few more high tops near the bar. Most of the room features bright blue upholstery and cheerful colors, with a variety of finishes on the furniture. It has an eclectic, homey feel.

Outside, a three foot metal sign reads, in tall letters inset with outdoor bulbs: TACOS. A long counter runs the length of the back wall, advertising snacks and drinks of Mexican flavor, including things like fried plantain chips, horchata, coconut water, and spicy hot chocolate. There’s an ordering counter where street tacos are sold in several varieties, all reasonably priced and delicious. Little iced cakes shaped like sugar skulls are on offer for kids and adults with a sweet tooth, complimenting traditional Mexican-American favorites like flavored churros and sweet flan. The place has a respectable vegan menu as well.

The staff is almost entirely composed of college students in jeans and sugar skull printed tees.
