Lucky 7 Truck Stop
The exterior is grimy but was once pure white with green accents. The large lettering across the top, in three foot letters, is meant to read LUCKY 7 , but has burned out partially and now reads UCKY 1, due to an unfortunate seagull incident that took out the top bar of the 7.
Inside, the establishment is your standard beige tile floor with racks of gas station foods, chips, junk, candy, aspirin, personal hygiene products, motor oil, funnels, air fresheners, donuts, a hot dog spinner/roaster rack, and a selection of microwave burritos the likes of which no other truck stop along this highway has seen—even some vegetarian organic ones, which is weird for a run town stop like this one. Their slushie machine is epic, and always features a rotating selection of seven flavors, though they always have Cherry, Mt. Dew, and Coke.
Through the back is a set of bathrooms, and a huge shower area with flimsy yellow curtains for ‘privacy’. Somehow it manages to look clean-ish if you’re a little sauced, but always smells just vaguely off, even with the sudsy perfume of vended soap in the air. Beyond the shower room entry is a heavy blackout curtain with a handwritten sign pinned on that reads: ADULTS ONLY.
The Back Room:
The back room of the Lucky 7 is a truly unique selection of adult toys for the desperate collector. There are key chain vibes and your usual over the top plastic outfits, rubber and silicone accessories, and a whole wall of lubes (some are even vegan!). It’s really a wonder why anyone ever comes here for that kind of thing, particularly when the internet has such a varied and much more quality selection. Probably it’s just the novelty. Vending machines in the bathrooms spit out fake marriage licenses too.
Showers:
A vending machine in the bathroom vends out a selection of scented shampoos and conditioners, in travel size bottles, for the low low price of $1 each. There’s even a shower gel selection, though most of them smell suspiciously like pine sol.
