A foggy night view of the water and a port town.

House of Boba

House of Boba is all slate, glass, and metal outside, with large windows and plants hanging in the eaves. Brightly painted and cheerful, the interior smells like savory and sweet foods, simple food with with flavor. The menu includes Thai food and fusion food, along with sushi, local fish, organic and locally sourced produce. Menus are available up front near a payment counter. Booths line the room, and small and large group tables are scattered inside the interior, maple wood shined, upholstery pale blue to compliment mango-painted walls. There’s a pair of unisex restrooms in back.

The most popular items on the menu are various flavors of boba tea with mix-ins from jellies to extra flavors of pearls, seeds, herbs, red beans, egg pudding, and cheese foam. Food items that are popular include curries, pad thai, and stir fry, and dumplings.

Takeaway is nearly nonstop, as it’s particularly popular with delivery services. Custom dishes and substitutions are made cheerfully by the staff. The chefs are Thai, and the language filters out from the kitchen along with frequent laughter.
