A foggy night view of the water and a port town.

Hollygrove Fire Department

The HFD is a tall brick and stone building with three front bays that are windowed floor to second-story ceiling. One bay is the engine, one bay the ladder, and the last bay is the ambulance. Details are painted in red, and all of the vehicles are red and white. There are two town ambulances, but one’s usually out and about as crews take turns eating, doing paperwork, resting up, and serving the town.

Inside the well-lit firehouse, beyond the bays, is a locker room, sleeping quarters, a workout room, and an open floor plan kitchen, rec room with couches and tvs, and a couple of offices behind closed doors. A reception desk sits in front of the main pedestrian entrance, usually manned by a civilian to direct calls and greet guests. Overall it’s a fairly small building, but lets in a lot of natural light during the day, is well lit at night, and has slightly worn, but comfortable furniture. It’s not a bad place to work, and the fridge is always stocked.

When calls go out, a voice-over with alarm rings through the entire building.
